Admin Staff

Larry Barrett serves as worship leader and youth minister of SGCC. He gave his life to Christ in 1979 as the result of the faithful prayers of an uncle and grandmother. He has lived in Staunton for most of his life and has served in the ministry of leading worship for a good deal of his time as a Christian. He attended Christ for the Nations Institute of Biblical Studies from 1987-89 and has been involved in prison ministry, street ministry in New York City, and various outreaches involving music and worship. Larry has served on numerous short term missions outreaches.

Larry has been a staff member of SGCC since 1998. He is married to Mary Ellen (McCarthy), since 1983. They have two daughters, Ashley (b. 1985), and Betsy (b.1989).

Larry is gifted in the area of music ministry, exhortation, and teaching.

Alice Keister ~ Administrative Assistant

Alice Keister serves as the bookkeeper and administrative assistant of Staunton Grace Covenant Church. She has been serving the body of Christ with her husband, Tim, (an elder at Staunton Grace Covenant) since they came to Christ in 1973.

Alice, her husband, Tim and their three children had the opportunity to be part of a mission trip to Mexico in 1993. This mission trip proved to be a unique ministry experience for the entire family.

Alice’s area of giftings include encouragement and hospitality.

Alice has been married to Tim since November 1971. They have three children, Joel (born in 1977) married to Elizabeth, Aaron (born in 1979) married to Jill, and Sarah (born in 1983) married to Matt.

Pam Sproul ~ Choir Director

Pam serves as the director of both the adult and children’s choir. Pam has almost 25 years of experience in church music, directing adult, youth, and children’s choirs. She received her early music education at James Madison University and finished her degree in music history and music education at Mary Baldwin College. As part of her senior thesis at Mary Baldwin, Pam taught and directed the Staunton Grace Covenant Choir in a performance of Gabriel Faure’s Requiem with organ, harp, and violin accompaniment.

Pam was married to John on August 31, 1974. Their children are Jennifer (b. 1977, Morgan (b. 1979), and Adam (b. 1981)

John Sproul ~ Building, Finance & Grounds

John Sproul oversees the maintenance of SGCC and is involved in various areas of the life of the church including the finance committee and the building committee. John has been involved with ministry as a sound technician since 1980, and leads the audiovisual ministry of the church.

John owns a family farm in Middlebrook and is CEO of Continental Warranty Corporation John came to know Christ in 1966 but did not grow in the Lord until after the birth of his daughter in 1977.

John’s spiritual gifts include service, hospitality and helps.

John was married to Pam on August 31, 1974. They have three children, Jennifer (b. 1977), Morgan (b. 1979), and Adam (b. 1981).
