Choir | Meets Wednesday afternoons 5:00 – 6:00 pm | Choir consists of children ages 3 – 10 (at present). The general format of our hour together consists of physical and vocal warm-ups, song learning with movement, the basics in music theory, and a time of artwork that reflects what we are learning in song.
Church | At SGCC we are committed to providing opportunities for our children to grow spiritually and in the nurture of the Lord. Our teachers and assistants present lessons and activities during Children’s Church that are encouraging, challenging and stimulate life applications. We offer nursery services during our entire service for infants through 3 years of age.
Children are released from our worship service to attend Children’s Church. We offer a Preschool class for 3 and 4 year olds and a class for our K through 5th graders. The Preschool class uses “Kinderchurch” curriculum in which they learn concepts of God on a quarterly basis. For example; Ten Commandments, Fruit of the Spirit. This quarter’s topic: The Armor of God The K-5th grade class uses “252 Basics” curriculum where Godly virtues are taught on a monthly basis. The lessons will use a biblical story to exemplify the virtue and small groups for personal connections as well as life application. All the children (3 year olds through 5th grade) come together for a time of worship towards the end of the Children’s Church time. Everyone at SGCC who works in any aspect with our children and youth have been screened under the Youth Protection Program (YPP). The screening process includes an application, references and a training session. All applications are reviewed and assessed by the YPP committee. For more details and/or the next training, call the church office or Jill Keister, Director of Children’s Ministries.
Nursery | Nursery is provided for infants up to three years of age. Everyone at Staunton Grace Covenant who works in any aspect with our children and youth has been screened under the Youth Protection Program. ReducingTheRisk.com
