Steve Paulus, D.Min. | Senior Pastor | Pastor Steve has served as senior pastor of Staunton Grace Covenant Church since August of 1996. Steve came to know Christ in 1974 as a college student, and has served in numerous Christian activities and outreaches. In 1979 he became the founding pastor of the Raccoon Ford Christian Fellowship in Culpeper County, Virginia. Both churches are members of Grace Network, an association of evangelical, charismatic, and reformed churches based in the mid-Atlantic states. Steve regularly preaches on Sunday mornings at SGCC and teaches Sunday evening classes twice a year. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, a Master of Divinty degree from Regent University in Virginia Beach, VA and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in S. Hamilton, MA. Steve and his family lived in Slovenia and Croatia from 1992 through 1996 where he served as academic dean and as resident faculty at the Evangelical Theological Seminary in Osijek, Croatia. He has ministered in churches in Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia, Romania, Macedonia and Ukraine where many former students now serve in leadership roles. SGCC graciously releases Steve to continue this connection with post-communist Europe through short-term teaching missions twice a year. He currently serves as adjunct faculty at the Evangelical Theological Seminary in Osijek and the Ukrainian Evangelical Theological Seminary in Kiev, Ukraine teaching courses on Wisdom Literature from a Pastoral Perspective, Patrology, and A Survey of the Second Temple Period. He also conducts small group seminars for practicing pastors from the former Yugoslavia through the Institute for Pastoral Studies in affiliation with the Evangelical Theological Seminary in Osijek, Croatia. John Eiker | Associate Pastor | John has served as associate pastor of Staunton Grace Covenant Church since August of 2010. He has served with the Grace Network of churches since 1988. John is currently involved in pastoral ministry, worship ministry, youth ministry, and administration. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from McDaniel College in Westminster, MD. Prior to joining the SGCC staff, he had careers in the insurance industry (sixteen years) and as a teacher (six years). John and his wife Michele served at Grace Church of Fredericksburg in various leadership roles from 1989-1998. In 1998 God called them to help plant Grace Church of Richmond. John served as worship coordinator, bookkeeper, advisory council member, and later as an elder. John and Michele have been married since 1989. Their four children are Paul, Rachel, David, and Daniel. In addition to raising their own children, they have also been active as foster parents since 1993.
Pam Sproul | Director of Worship Arts | Pam has been in the music ministry for almost 30 years. She was born in Bronx, New York, and lived most of her growing up years in northern New Jersey. She attended Lynchburg College, and graduated from Lynchburg General-Marshall Lodge Hospital School of Nursing in 1974 as a registered nurse. Pam spent her nursing career as a critical care nurse in the Intensive Care Unit. She studied Music Education at James Madison University, and graduated from Mary Baldwin College with a degree in Music History and Literature and Music Education. Pam served as music director at Staunton Alliance Church for 13 years and worked as choral director at Robert E. Lee High School from 2005 – 2010. She has served with Staunton Grace Covenant Church since 1996. Pam’s role as Director of Worship Arts includes three areas of responsibility:Worship Coordinator, Adult and Children’s Choir Director, Coordinator of Drama ministry. Pam married John Sproul in 1974. They are parents of three grown children and two grandchildren.
John Sproul | Director of Building and Maintenance | John is a native of Augusta County and has a BS in Business Administration from Lynchburg College. He served for 6 years in the Naval Reserve. John served as a deacon at Staunton Alliance Church for 14 years. John also serves as the SGCC Treasurer. John & Pam are part of the original church plant core from Harrisonburg Grace Covenant Church.
Jill Keister | Director of Children’s Ministries | Jill Keister has a Bachelor’s degree from Mary Baldwin College in Theatre and Education. Jill has been working with children and church ministries for twelve years. Jill and her husband became members of SGCC in 2002. They have two young daughters and a son.
Alice Keister | Administrative Assistant, Bookkeeper Alice serves as the administrative assistant and bookkeeper of Staunton Grace Covenant Church. She has attended the church since its inception in 1996 and has served in her current capacity since 1999. Alice’s husband, Tim, is one of the church elders. They have been married since 1971 and have three grown children and 8 grandchildren.
