How Do I?

How Do I?

Are you wondering, “How do I get involved?”

For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.
Romans 12:4-5

If you are a member of the Body of Christ, then you have a ministry to fulfill. But to be involved, you need to know how to get involved. If you’ve ever asked the question, “How Do I” get involved with a ministry at Staunton Grace, see below to find out how!

Connect with Others in a Home Group

See our Home Groups page. Contact any home group leader for information on where and when they meet. Feel free to visit several to find a fit with what you are looking for!

Become a Home Group Leader

If you want to become a home group leader, you need to be an active member of a home group. Then, talk to your home group leader about stepping into a leadership role. You may also contact David Mikesell, elder over the home group ministries, for more information.

Be on the Worship Team

In order to be considered for service on the worship team, set up an interview with Pam Sproul, our Director of Worship Arts. You must be a mature believer, comfortable with manifestations of the Holy Spirit, and committed to Staunton Grace as your local church home.

Work with Nursery, Children or Youth Ministries

In order to protect our children and youth, all who work in children and youth ministries must be screened through the Youth Protection Program (YPP), and have attended for at least 6 months. Note that since the YPP screening can take several weeks to complete, you may begin the process before the 6-month period is complete. See John Eiker, Associate Pastor, on completing the YPP screening.

Help with Projection, Broadcasting and Soundboard

If you are technically gifted and would like to help with projection, broadcasting, or soundboard, contact Ed Smith or John Sproul.

Help with Building Projects

If you are handy with tools or a paint brush, or like to garden, there are always things to help out with. See John Sproul, our Director of Building Maintenance, on how to volunteer.

Assist with Kitchen or Social Gatherings

We love to gather and fellowship over meals, but that takes people with a gift of hospitality to prepare the Fellowship Hall, organize the food, and help with cleanup afterwards. If you enjoy serving others in social gatherings, please contact Karen Montgomery through the church office at 540-886-8076.

Be a Greeter

A warm smile and a handshake help to welcome both new and old friends into our church. If you have a gift for making people feel welcome, contact Bobby and Sue Cook through the church office at 540-886-8076.

Other Ministries

Staunton Grace has many other ministries that you can get involved with. If there is a ministry area that you are interested in, contact John Eiker, Associate Pastor, and he will connect you with the appropriate ministry leader.
